The Chinese European Arbitration Centre ("CEAC") offers services of an institutional arbitration centre tailor-made to the needs of trade with China. It is based on a truly global approach granting equal power to Chinese, European and worldwide participants in the market (from areas other than Europe and China). This approach guaranties neutrality, in particular during the process for the choice of a neutral arbitrator (as noted, for example, in a Swiss reaction to the foundation of the CEAC).
During the preparation and negotiation of an international contract with a direct or (however remote) indirect relation to China, the parties can refer to a CEAC Arbitration Clause to agree on a neutral place of arbitration (for example, if none of the parties succeeds in insisting on a national arbitration system).
Similarly, the CEAC Choice of Law Clause offers options to agree on common and/or neutral rules.
