Professional Experience in International Commercial Arbitration (Experience as Chairman / Sole Arbitrator / Co-Arbitrator / Party Representative)

Jost Kienzle has been acting and is acting in numerous cases as arbitrator (both as Chairman as well as as co-arbitrator) and in particular as counsel representing parties to an arbitration. Such arbitrations were ad hoc arbitrations, ICC arbitrations, disputes pursuant to DIS, GMAA, Hamburger Freundschaftliche Arbitrage, Waren-Vereins-Bedingungen and others.

Jost Kienzle has been acting and is acting on various matters relating to investments originating from South East Asia including China towards Europe and the other way around. Following his working experience in Hong Kong he has taken care of the interests of his Chinese as well as his German clients in matters relating to China.

Education

Born in Stuttgart in 1958. After completing military service, studied law in Hamburg, followed by legal traineeship in Hamburg, New York and London. Having passed the second state examination research assistant at the Institute of Maritime Law and the Law of the Sea, University of Hamburg; doctorate on a topic related to the international maritime law. Joined CMS as associate in 1991. Partner since 1994; several months of legal experience in Hong Kong, also in 1994.
