The CEAC ...
- administers the initiation of the arbitration process including the constitution of the arbitration tribunal; in particular, upon request of a party, it nominates a sole arbitrator, the second arbitrator in case of default of the Respondent (Article 7 para. 2 of the CEAC Hamburg Arbitration Rules) or the Chairman if the first and second arbitrator do not agree on a Chairman within 30 days after appointment of the second arbitrator;
- decides on challenges of arbitrators;
- monitors the timing of the ongoing arbitration proceedings;
- deals with all issues of costs.
The CEAC does not ... - control the contents of the procedural and material decisions of the arbitration tribunals duly constituted according to the CEAC Rules.
